Four nights dinner, bed & breakfast and two nights entertainment
Situated in idyllic countryside at the gateway to the Trossachs, and set within Scotland’s first National Park, the hotel is a short stroll along the banks of the Forth River to the picturesque village of Aberfoyle. Facilities include: Tartan Tea Room; Thistle Bar Lounge.
MONDAY We travel north to Scotland, taking breaks en route.
TUESDAY Today we visit Stirling, rich in history and spectacular scenery. We first visit Stirling Castle, widely regarded as one of Scotland’s grandest castles, with its imposing position and impressive architecture. There will be further time at leisure to browse the independent boutiques in the historic surroundings of the old town. Time permitting, we visit Aberfoyle on our return.
WEDNESDAY We head south to Balloch, where we embark on a scenic one hour Loch Lomond cruise enjoying views of the magnificent Ben Lomond and a number of Loch Lomond’s stately homes. We then continue on to the picturesque village of Luss for a lunch stop. From here we journey through the Trossachs National Park, via Crianlarich and Callender, and return to the hotel via the Duke’s Pass.
THURSDAY We journey to Edinburgh, making a stop en route to visit the magnificent and striking Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures. Enjoy Edinburgh’s cityscape with its medieval old town, striking Georgian architecture, and Edinburgh Castle dominating the skyline. Whether you prefer shopping or sightseeing, Edinburgh has both bases more than covered!
FRIDAY We depart after our final Scottish breakfast, making suitable stops en route.
