Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

MONDAY We travel north across the border, with suitable stops en route, arriving in good time for dinner.

TUESDAY Today we travel to St Andrews for a morning at leisure to explore this former fishing port, famous as a university town and golfing mecca. We then make the short transfer to Kingsbarns Distillery, where we experience the perfect introduction to Scotland’s amber nectar, partaking in a whisky tour and tasting.

WEDNESDAY Our first stop today is the University of Dundee Botanic Garden, located in 9.5 hectares of gently sloping land near the River Tay. Enjoy the wide range of plants, with fine collections of conifers and broad-leaved trees and shrubs, tropical and temperate glasshouses, water garden and herb garden. Following this, enjoy some time at leisure in the centre of Dundee, after which we head out on a coastal drive taking us through the golf town of Carnoustie and onwards to Arbroath.  Here, the Signal Tower museum, steeped in maritime history tells tales of the town and its famous smoked fish.

THURSDAY This morning we head for Scone Palace, world famous crowning place of the King of Scots. The palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artefacts, and the grounds are renowned throughout the world, making this one of the most popular attractions in Scotland. We then return to Perth for an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps visit the Perth Museum & Art Gallery, or follow the River Tay Public Art Trail.

FRIDAY We bid farewell to Scotland, and commence our homeward journey with suitable stops en route.
