Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

MONDAY We travel north to Scotland, taking breaks en route.

TUESDAY Today begins with a visit to Stirling, rich in history and spectacular scenery.  We include a visit to Stirling Castle, widely regarded as one of Scotland’s grandest castles, with its imposing position and impressive architecture.  Following this, enjoy some time at leisure to browse the independent boutiques in the historic surroundings of the old town.

WEDNESDAY A scenic drive today as we explore the Trossachs, an area recognised as one of outstanding beauty, with breathtaking views as we pass by wooded glens, braes and lochs.  We visit Callander, a bustling town situated on the River Teith, often described as the gateway to the Highlands. We then venture further west, and take time to relax and enjoy a tranquil one hour cruise of Loch Katrine. From here, we return to Aberfoyle via the Duke’s Pass, with a stop off at the Scottish Wool Centre to browse the traditional Scottish wares, before returning to the hotel.

THURSDAY We commence the day with a visit to the picturesque Balloch, a charming village located at the southern edge of Loch Lomond, and home to the Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre. From here we embark on a scenic one hour Loch Lomond cruise, and then continue on to the picturesque village of Luss. In the afternoon we enjoy an informative guided walk of the Glengoyne Distillery grounds, followed by a tasting of one of their whiskies.

FRIDAY  We depart after our final Scottish breakfast, making suitable stops en route.
