Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

SUNDAY With an early departure, we make our way to Holyhead for the ferry crossing to Dublin, with overnight dinner, bed and breakfast in Bray.

MONDAY Leaving Bray we make our way to the Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens,(10:30) the beating heart of Ireland’s thoroughbred horse industry.  Time to enjoy the unique experience of horses and horticulture, before continuing to the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon for a three night stay.

TUESDAY  We make our way to the coast to find the mighty Cliffs of Moher, rising 700 ft above the Atlantic Ocean.  On a clear day the viewing platforms offer stunning views of the Aran Islands, Maumturks and Galway Bay. There will be ample time to explore both outdoors and the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre, before we continue to the spa town of Lisdoonvarna for free time.

WEDNESDAY A full day in Galway, once a humble fishing village but now western Ireland’s adopted capital.  This free spirited, artistic and bohemian city has an ambience all of its own. Enjoy the buzzing café culture in Eyre Square, visit the cathedral and museums (charges may apply) or watch the salmon fishermen on Lough Corrib.

THURSDAY We depart the hotel and travel to the west coast, including a visit to Foynes Flying Boat Maritime Museum. A fascinating insight into the nostalgic era that Foynes became the centre of the aviation world between 1937 and 1945. Enjoy a complimentary Irish coffee during the visit. We then continue to the Dooleys Hotel in Waterford for a three night stay, enjoying a welcome drink on arrival.

FRIDAY A day at leisure to explore Waterford. Established by the Vikings in the 9th century, it is now capital of Ireland’s sunny South East.  Perhaps enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic city, visit the museums, or the world-famous Waterford Crystal and Visitor Centre (charges may apply to all).

SATURDAY Kilkenny is today’s destination, for a day of exploration. We begin with an introduction to this well-preserved medieval town with a ride on the Kilkenny Road Train. Sit back and relax as it takes us through the narrow streets to reveal the abbey, and cathedral among other highlights. In the afternoon we have time to further explore the compact city on foot.

SUNDAY We board an early morning ferry from Rosslare to Pembroke, with breakfast included on board, and continuing our homeward journey to Lincolnshire.

Please note for all Irish tours, we require balances no later than 10 weeks prior.  The deadline will be clearly shown on your paperwork.
