SATURDAY We enjoy time at leisure in Canterbury this morning, home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Canterbury Cathedral, the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church. From here we continue to Whitstable for the afternoon. Time to take a stroll along the seafront and over to the harbour, enjoy the lovely gardens, small independent shops and twisting little side streets with quaint names like Squeeze Gut Alley!
SUNDAY This morning we head to Leeds Castle. Rising majestically from the moat, and with its riveting history serving six of England’s medieval queens, the castle’s rich heritage has secured its place as one of the most visited historic attractions in Britain. Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens and parkland, and witness the carpets of Daffodils, Narcissi and Anemones offering a vibrant burst of colour. We continue to Rochester, where centuries of history and heritage are just awaiting discovery in the place that was the childhood home of novelist Charles Dickens.
MONDAY We depart the hotel and travel to Greenwich, notable for its maritime history and green spaces. We commence our homeward journey in the afternoon.
