Three Years of Connecting City, County & Coast

Friday 5th June 2026 marks a significant milestone for P. C. Coaches as we celebrate three years of operating Service 50 – the route that connects Lincoln, Wragby, Louth and Mablethorpe, linking City, County & Coast.

When we took over the route in June 2023, our goal was simple: to protect an important transport link and provide local communities with a reliable bus service they could depend on. Three years later, Service 50 has become one of Lincolnshire's most important bus corridors, carrying thousands of passengers each month between work, education, shopping, healthcare and leisure destinations.

The third anniversary also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the route, with two brand-new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-deck buses entering service on Friday 5th June. Representing an investment of nearly £600,000, the new vehicles are the largest single investment in new buses ever made by an independent bus operator in Lincolnshire, demonstrating P. C. Coaches' long-term commitment to improving local bus services and investing in the future of public transport across the county.

Over the past three years, we have continually invested in the route, introducing timetable improvements, additional journey opportunities and enhancing the overall customer experience. The arrival of the new buses is another major step forward and will provide customers with increased comfort, reliability and capacity for years to come.

As an employee-owned business, we understand the importance of local transport. Service 50 does more than connect places; it connects people. Whether travelling to Lincoln for work, visiting the market town of Louth, heading to the coast at Mablethorpe, or accessing essential services along the route, Service 50 plays a vital role in everyday life across Lincolnshire.

More Improvements Coming This Summer

The celebrations do not stop with the arrival of our new double-deck buses.

From Monday 27th July 2026, Service 50 will benefit from a further package of enhancements designed to make travelling between Lincoln, Wragby, Louth and Mablethorpe even easier and more convenient.

The revised timetable will introduce earlier morning and later evening journeys, providing greater flexibility for commuters, students, shoppers and leisure travellers. Customers will also benefit from additional through journeys between Lincoln and Mablethorpe, reducing the need to change onto connecting services and creating a more seamless journey between the city and the coast.

The improvements form part of our ongoing commitment to developing Service 50 and ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
